STRUGGLING WITH PURPOSE: YOU MIGHT BE THE REASON YOU FEEL STUCK (LET’S TALK)

You’re praying. You’re trying, you want more…but somehow you still feel stuck.

Have you ever been in a season of your life where nothing was going the way you imagined? Or maybe it was the opposite—you accomplished everything you thought you wanted, yet something still felt off. For many of us, that’s not just a moment, it’s a pattern.

Not moving forward. Not fully where you used to be but not where you’re going either.

It’s frustrating, confusing, and honestly, sometimes discouraging.

But the truth is…sometimes it’s not your situation that’s keeping you stuck. It’s what God is trying to do within you.

This isn’t about shame. It’s about awareness. Because once you see it, you can move differently.

Let’s talk about a few real reasons you may feel stuck—and what God might be trying to show you in this season.

  1. YOU’RE PURSUING YOUR PLANS VS GOD’S PLAN

Here’s the hard truth—what we often go after in life can sometimes shift us into a place of misalignment. What we believed was good for us turned out to be something we never should have pursued, leaving us with the lingering question: “God what have you placed me here to do?”

I’ve been there.

My life felt stagnant and unfulfilled. There were tears, sleepless nights, and silence from God in the middle of my uncertainties and questioning of his plans for me.

I begin to wrestle with these questions:

  • Why was God silent?

  • What was he doing within me?

  • Why wasn’t he showing me his plans for me?

Little did I know, God was pursuing me through his silence.

Here’s what I learned:

  • Silence doesn’t means absence

  • Silence invites deeper intimacy

  • Silence reveals what’s loud in the heart

When things are quiet, what arises? Is it doubt, anxiety, or insecurities? Is it a fear of being forgotten?

What do you do when purpose feels unclear and God is silent?

Im here to let you know that God is concerned more about your heart rather than your purpose! He cares more about WHO you’re becoming than WHAT you’re doing.

2. You’re Unsure About Your Purpose

This was indeed a struggle of mine for quite sometime. We tend to look at purpose as platforms, microphones, and life-changing moments when many times purpose is hidden in:

  • our daily yes to God

  • our private obedience

  • our surrender

Purpose isn’t always clear or drastic and I’ve learned that purpose can also look like:

  • stewardship and faithfulness over the small things

  • showing up consistently

  • interceding for others in prayer

  • sharing testimonies

….the list goes on! The point is.. none of it feels like purpose in the moment.

What if stewarding that low paying job you hate determines the job offer and salary of your dreams?

What if standing in the gap for someone in prayer creates spiritual support where they may be weak?

What if sharing a testimony to an unbeliever converts their heart to Christ?

You see…purpose is not always something you enjoy. It’s not just one clear assignment or a single destination. It's not about what you do but who you’re becoming. It’s an ongoing transformation inwardly.

3. YOU’RE NOT STUCK—YOU’RE IN A REFINEMENT SEASON

What if the thing you’re calling “stuck” is actually refinement and God’s way of pruning you? I had to learn to be careful about defining the season God has me in. Sometimes, we can misdiagnose our seasons and miss what he is doing within us. Truth be told…

  • growth can feel slow

  • transition can feel unclear

  • stretching is uncomfortable

BUT……it’s all apart of the refinement!

God is not withholding your purpose from you because you are stuck neither is he wasting your pain. He is refining and reshaping you inside out so that you can walk in his plan for you and not break. He loves us enough to refine us before exposure so that we can withstand and be anchored.

He pursues us in the refinement !

YOUR HARD SEASONS DONT DISQUALIFY YOUR PURPOSE!

Take a moment to reflect on who you believe God is shaping you into. Ask yourself these questions:

  • What am I defining as purpose?

  • Am I allowing God to refine me?

  • What is God showing me in my uncertainty ?

Until Next Time…..Love Yall!
